DefMin Dusa: I wish NFIU command to be operational by June
Romanian National Defence Minister Mircea Dusa announced in Cluj-Napoca (northwest of the capital) on Monday that he wished NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) to be operational by June.

Romania Opposition Party Elects New Chief
The centre-right opposition Popular Movement Party, PMP, elected a new leader at a congress on Sunday in the Romanian capital.
Eugen Tomac, 34, received over 90 per cent of the delegates to the congress. In his first speech, Tomac said he was convinced that the party could win the next elections and "make Romania stay proud among the EU countries".

Eugen Tomac elected PMP chairman; Dorel Onaca is secretary-general
Deputy Eugen Tomac was voted on Sunday at the Congress of the People's Movement Party (PMP) to be the party's chairman, while Dorel Onaca was elected secretary-general.

Oltchim closes January on profit (EcoMin)
Economy, Trade and Tourism Minister Mihai Tudose announced that Oltchim, the chemical factory of Ramnicu Valcea (northwest of Bucharest), had a 700,000 euros profit in January, which makes it more attractive for the long-awaited privatization.

Commission Upgrades Romania's Growth in 2015
A European Commission report published on Thursday holds good news for Romania in 2015.
"Economic growth in Romania is forecast to stay above potential at 2.7 per cent in 2015 and 2.9 per cent in 2016, powered by domestic demand and supported by the gradual recovery expected in the global economy," it reads.
