The Romanian Defence Defence, Mihai Fifor, said on Friday that all the country's old Soviet MiG-21 Lancer fighter jets will be grounded until the end of an investigation, after a MiG-21 Lancer crashed last Sunday at an air rally near Constanta on the Black Sea coast.

A MIG 21 Lancer military aircraft crashed on Monday in Constanta County, official sources have informed, Agerpress reported.

The acquisition of nine surplus F-16 figher jets modernised by Portugal is an option, which Bulgaria is analysing as part of plans to replace its ageing fleet of Soviet-made MiG-29s, according to janes.com
