As many as 161,054 Romanian voters turned out to the presidential ballot on Sunday, according to the figures received by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) from 294 polling stations set up abroad by 8 a.m. on Monday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Titus Corlatean cast his ballot in the presidential polls early on Sunday at "Nicolae Tonitza" Plastic Art High School, stressing that he has voted "thinking of our brothers beyond the Prut."
He came accompanied by his wife, his daughter and his wife's grandmother.
Romanians Cast Votes for New President
Some 18.3 million Romanians aged 18 and over are eligible to vote in the presidential elections. In total, 18,550 polling stations will open across Romania. Another 294 are available for Romanian citizens living abroad.
