Turkish-Greek project in field of theater

Turkish State Theaters will stage Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' in Athens with a joint project, announced General Manager Tamer Karadağlı.

Within the scope of a joint project of by the General Directorate of State Theaters (DT) and the Greek Piraeus City Theater, British writer William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" will be staged in Athens after Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir.

Hungary's theater chief offered to resign after a balcony fall injured two actors in his Romeo and Juliet production, BBC has reported.

Júlia Szász played Juliet and Otto Lajos Horváth performed as her father Capulet during the accident on Nov. 10. The pair are in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A romantic drama based on the Shakespeare classic, "This is Not Romeo & Juliet" will be streamed live by the Poreia Theater on Saturday, December 5, starting at 9 p.m. local time. Written and directed by Argyris Pandazaras (in Greek), the play centers on another pair of star-crossed lovers who invade a theater to play out their own romantic drama.
