Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov addressed Bulgaria's ongoing negotiations for Schengen accession during a detailed briefing, shedding light on the status of discussions regarding the inclusion of land borders, confirming the absence of specified timelines in negotiations with key partners.

President Rumen Radev took to social media to convey his heartfelt Christmas wishes to Bulgarians across the country. In a Facebook post, he expressed his hopes for good health, inner strength, and genuine joy to resonate in every Bulgarian household during this festive season.

Kornelia Ninova, leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), openly expressed regret over nominating President Rumen Radev as a presidential candidate. Speaking on Nova TV, Ninova criticized Radev, accusing him of altering his stances based on his audience.

President Rumen Radev's poignant visit to NATO's Kosovo Force (KFOR) showcased Bulgaria's steadfast commitment to global peace and security. Addressing the Bulgarian contingent stationed at the KFOR base, President Radev emphasized Bulgaria's pivotal role within NATO and the EU, underlining the nation's dedication to upholding peace, stability, and security.

President Rumen Radev has pressed the Bulgarian government for swift action to ensure the country's full accession to the Schengen Area by the end of the year.

President Rumen Radev announced plans to refer the recently adopted constitutional amendments to the Constitutional Court, asserting concerns over their implications for Bulgaria's democratic principles. The amendments, which were approved by Parliament, prompted Radev's action as he perceives their potential impact on citizens' rights and the nation's sovereignty.

UPDATE: The Dutch justice ministry just announced that they have given their approval for Bulgaria to join the Schengen area, marking the end of the Netherlands' prolonged resistance to this decision.

Bulgaria's President Radev recently underscored the country's readiness for Schengen membership, expressing expectations for swift and unequivocal backing from the Netherlands. Radev highlighted that Bulgaria has met all prerequisites for Schengen accession since 2011 but cited internal political factors in certain EU nations as obstructive.

"The barbaric destruction of monuments is not only an attempt to erase history, but also greatly exacerbates public opposition".

This was announced by President Rumen Radev in his first comment on the dismantling of the Monument to the Soviet Army.

According to him, the reason is that the destruction of one monument leads to the negation of another.

The Bulgarian Interior Ministry's press center has reported the removal of a fabricated video featuring the likeness and voice of President Rumen Radev from online platforms. The General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime, upon notification from the President's administration, promptly intervened to address the issue.
