Commission Moves to Ensure Supply of Personal Protective Equipment in the European Union

In its continuing efforts to protect citizens and to coordinate the response to COVID-19, the Commission has taken immediate steps to protect the availability of supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE), by requiring that exports of such equipment outside of the European Union are subject to an export authorisation by Member States, the European Commission said in a press release.

Municipal bid to curb worker deaths

An Interior Ministry bill foresees stricter penalties for municipal authorities and employees who do not abide by health and safety regulations in a bid to curb an increase in worker accidents.

The bill, which is to go to Parliament in February, is to include the recommendations of a committee tasked with probing the causes of worker accidents.
