Around 700 police officers raided a neighborhood mostly populated by Roma people in the western town of Keşan early on July 1, detaining 44 suspects upon claims of “brawling and looting.”
20 dead after Indonesian military plane crashes in flames
An Indonesian air force transport plane crashed on June 30 shortly after take-off, exploding in a fireball in a city residential area and killing at least 20 people.

Smoldering fire at abandoned recycling plant ‘chokes’ west Athens
The greater Athens area, particularly the working-class western districts, have been choking on toxic fumes as a result of a still smoldering fire at an abandoned recycling plant in the Aspropyrgos district, west of Athens proper.
The distinct and unpleasant smell of burnt plastic was evident in much of western Athens on Tuesday.
