Safranbolu, a district located in Türkiye's northern province Karabük, renowned for its historic mansions that earned it an inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994, has achieved another milestone by joining the network of calm cities Cittaslow.

Türkiye's new touristic train, the Karaelmas Express, has completed its promotional tour from the capital Ankara to the northern province of Zonguldak. 

A new tourist train line for those who want to explore the natural and cultural richness of the western Black Sea is soon to be in service in April.

Turkey's first and only coffee museum is located in the Safranbolu district in the northern province of Karabük, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and among the "20 best-protected cities," hosting visitors in a 400-year-old historical Cinci inn.

The northern province of Karabük, which is home to important cultural and nature tourism centers of Turkey, has started to make a name for itself in agro-tourism with its sunflower fields after its "miracle plant" saffron and purple lavender.

With a train ride that takes just about an hour, visitors to the province of Karabük's Safranbolu district, one of the important cultural tourism centers in northern Turkey, will also be able to visit the Yenice district, which is home to the country's largest block forests, called the "forest sea," as well as nature parks, waterfalls, lakes, plateaus, canyons and camping areas.

The belongings of Leyla Gencer, considered one of the important sopranos of the 20th century, will be exhibited at her father's hometown, Safranbolu, in the northern province of Karabük.

Gencer, a notable "bel canto" soprano, passed away 13 years ago in Milan. The soprano, who spent most of her career in Italy, became famous as "La Diva Turca," "La Gencer" and "La Regina."

Thousands of years of history and cultural heritage of the Safranbolu district, located in the northwestern province of Karabük province, are on display at the Safranbolu City History Museum.

Daily life of the Phrygian period will be brought to light via visual shows and animations in the Büyük Göztepe Tumulus in Safranbolu, a town in Turkey's northern province of Karabük, which is famous for its Ottoman-era buildings that include frame houses, inns and Turkish bathhouses.
