Railways become new mode of alternative transport in Safranbolu

With a train ride that takes just about an hour, visitors to the province of Karabük's Safranbolu district, one of the important cultural tourism centers in northern Turkey, will also be able to visit the Yenice district, which is home to the country's largest block forests, called the "forest sea," as well as nature parks, waterfalls, lakes, plateaus, canyons and camping areas.

Late soprano’s house to boost Safranbolu tourism

The belongings of Leyla Gencer, considered one of the important sopranos of the 20th century, will be exhibited at her father's hometown, Safranbolu, in the northern province of Karabük.

Gencer, a notable "bel canto" soprano, passed away 13 years ago in Milan. The soprano, who spent most of her career in Italy, became famous as "La Diva Turca," "La Gencer" and "La Regina."

Visual shows in Turkey’s Ottoman town to present daily life of Phrygian period

Daily life of the Phrygian period will be brought to light via visual shows and animations in the Büyük Göztepe Tumulus in Safranbolu, a town in Turkey's northern province of Karabük, which is famous for its Ottoman-era buildings that include frame houses, inns and Turkish bathhouses.
