The Bulgarian National Assembly finally approved the 2023 Budget
The Bulgarian Parliament finally approved the 2023 Budget in a meeting that started at 9 a.m. yesterday and lasted almost 21 hours.
The financial framework is calculated at a deficit of three percent - on an accrual basis, with the preservation of a large part of the originally proposed capital program.
Civil servants to get a raise
The new salary system for civil servants to be activated from January 1, 2024, provides for a horizontal increase of 60-70 euros for the 660,000 public sector employees.
According to Finance Ministry officials, it includes fundamental changes in the salaries of civil servants, with raises and the reinforcement of special salaries, especially for those in positions of responsibility.

Raises in state salary system
The Economy Ministry is in a race against time for changes to the civil servants' salary system to be confirmed in the next few weeks and the new provisions to be included in the first omnibus bill.

Lowest-paid civil servant to receive 22,000 Turkish Liras
The lowest salary of Türkiye's civil servants will be increased to 22,000 Turkish Liras, Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Işıkhan has said.
The government is currently working on civil servants' pay and improvements in pensions, Işıkhan told reporters.
The salary raise challenge
Setting the minimum salary at 950 euros per month, from €780 today, and the average at €1,500 from €1,176.5 in end-2022 and €1,184 in end-May, is one of the key objectives of New Democracy, which is widely expected to win another four-year term in the elections this Sunday.

New collective agreement for Greece’s food service sector

Salary raises planned for civil servants

Minimum wage nearing average salary
With the new increase in the minimum wage to 780 euros gross and the drop in unemployment, a view across private sector payrolls in 2023 would show that about half of the country's workers will be paid gross earnings of €700-1,000 - i.e. up to €820 euros net.
