Türkiye's world-famous Lake Salda, recognized for its turquoise water and white beach in Yeşilova district of the southern province of Burdur, will kick off the new tourism season with hot air balloons.

Every year, thousands of tourists throng the lake, especially in the summer months.

In a statement, the governorship of Burdur said that despite the novel coronavirus epidemic over 800,000 people visited the site.

Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum has said that a planned park project around Lake Salda in the southern province of Burdur's Yeşilova district will not consist of any construction, vowing to protect the natural beauty of the lake.
