Tourist traffic rises 8-9 pct in Q1
Tourist traffic data for 2019 is looking rather good, as Fraport Greece announced a first-quarter year-on-year rise of 8.2 percent at its regional airports, though this is attributed mainly to domestic rather than foreign travelers.

Brussels clears regional airport privatization
The European Commission has approved the transfer of 14 Greek airports to a German-led consortium and says it's now up to Greece to finalize the deal, a key element of the country's bailout program.
The Commission says the 1.23-billion-euro agreement can go ahead as it did not involve state aid, was transparent and in line with market conditions.

More than 60,000 migrants and refugees stranded in Greece
The number of migrants and refugees stranded in Greece is estimated to be over 60,000, according to reports Tuesday.
A total of 143 individuals arrived on the Aegean island of Lesvos on Tuesday. Another 40 arrivals were recorded on Chios. The number of migrants and refugees on Greece's islands has reached 12,171.
SYRIZA government signs its first privatization concerning 14 regional airports
The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) signed contracts with Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide and its Greek partner Copelouzos Group for the 40-year concessions to operate, manage, develop and maintain 14 regional airports in Greece.
