The municipality of Sjenica has nominated the technology of preparing the famous Sjenica cottage cheese for the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list.
Sjenica is a town located on the Pester karst plateau in southwestern Serbia.

Five men have been arrested in the town of Novi Pazar, southwestern Serbia, on charges of rape.
They are being held in police custody for up to 48 hours this Thursday, the Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti has reported.

Serbia's government said it was declaring an emergency situation as a preventive measure, so that the authorities can react fast in saving lives and repairing damage caused by floods.
"The government will have daily meetings of the headquarters for emergency situations, and will continuously follow the situation in the field and inform citizens about it," it said.

Temperature drops to -30 degrees in SW Serbia town
Sjenica - a municipality on the Pester Plateau in southwestern Serbia - on Wednesday morning reported the temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius.
This made it one of the coldest towns today in the country, but also in the region.

Bosnian official: "Regional arming" given too much publicity
Denis Zvizdic said on Tuesday that "the story about the arming in the region" has been given "much more publicity than it is about real activities."
The chairman of the Council of Minister of Bosnia-Herzegovina spoke in Novi Pazar, southwestern Serbia, after his meeting with Serbian Deputy PM and Trade and Communications Minister Rasim Ljajic.
Vucic and Davutoglu cancel trip to Novi Pazar
Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu have canceled their visit to the town of Novi Pazar in southwestern Serbia.
The two prime ministers and Chairman of Bosnia's Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic were supposed to hold a meeting there.

No place for extremism and radicalism in Serbia - PM
"No sort of extremism or radicalism, religious or otherwise, can pass in Serbia," PM Aleksandar Vucic said in Novi Pazar, in the southwest of the country.
The government is taking care of the interests and security of all citizens, he said on Thursday.
