Sand sculpture fest welcomes visitors with Atlantis theme

Turkey's international sand sculpture festival is welcoming visitors for the 16th time in the Mediterranean province of Antalya.

The international sand sculpture festival, recognized as one of the biggest and oldest sand sculpture events in the world, has become more of a tradition in the country.

Sand Festival | Halkidiki | August 23-24

After conducting an international literary contest, Eyelands magazine and Strange Day Books present the 5th Sand Festival, during which selected winners will read their works of fiction and poetry on the shores of Possidi Beach in Halkidiki, just an hour's drive from the cosmopolitan city of Thessaloniki. This year will feature writers Christodoulos Lintzerinos and Anna Spartali.

Sand sculptures to reflect Seven Wonders

The ninth Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival will be organized this year around the theme of the Seven Wonders of the World and mythology.

Twenty-two sculptors from nine countries have started working on the sculptures. 

Organized by Global Art Works, the festival will cover an area of 10,000 square meters area and feature around 200 sculptures.
