Croatia to Try Serb Extradited from UK on War Crimes Charges
The retrial of Serb ex-policeman Milenko Maric for committing war crimes against the civilian population will begin on Tuesday in Osijek after he was extradited for the second time in six years from Britain, where he has been living for more than 25 years.
Maric, 63, who was extradited to Croatia on April 5, will be tried alongside 11 others.

Croatian police said on Tuesday that they have filed charges against two unnamed men, members of a special police unit of the Serbian Autonomous Region of Krajina, a wartime Serb rebel statelet in Croatia, for killing Russian reporters Viktor Nogin and Gennadiy Kurinnoy in September 1991.
Witness Denies Serbian SDB Behind Rebel Camp in Croatia
A defence witness in the war crimes retrial of former Serbian state security officials Jovica Stanisic and Franko Simatovic said on Tuesday that the State Security Service, SDB, that they led was not involved in establishing a training camp in a Serb breakaway statelet in Croatia in 1991.
Far-Right Attacks on Croatian University Condemned
Some far-right media outlets in Croatia have been condemned for publishing a press release from an alleged initiative of academics called "Let's Save Rijeka" claiming that Serbian groups with the help of some political parties are trying to take control of the university in the Croatian city of Rijeka.

SLS wants Serbian Consulate to be set up in Knin
BELGRADE - The Serbian Liberal Council (SLS) proposed to the authorities on Tuesday that a Serbian consulate should be opened in Knin, Croatia.
There are two consulates and the Embassy of Serbia in Croatia but the diplomatic representative offices are too far for Serbs living in the Kninska Krajina and places in the vicinity of Split, Zadar and Sibenik, SLS said in the proposition.
