Izetbegovic calls on President Nikolic to change his stance

SARAJEVO – Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Bakir Izetbegovic says he does not understand the reasoning behind Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic’s plans not to go to Sarajevo for an event marking 100 years since the outbreak of World War One (WWI) and his stating that he cannot go to a place where someone will accuse his people.

Sarajevo Gears up For World War I Centenary

Marking a start to commemorations of the outbreak of World War One, the Museum of Sarajevo on June 9 unveiled the images of both Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his Serbian assassin, Gavrilo Princip.

Princip's murder of the heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary in Sarajevo in 1914 is widely seen as the key event that triggered the war.

8th Sarajevo Days to be held in Belgrade on June 13-16

BELGRADE – The eighth iteration of Sarajevo Days event will take place from June 13 to 16 in Belgrade, the organisers have announced.

The programme will kick off on June 13 with Bunt (Rebellion), an exhibition by Sarajevo-based photographer Velija Hasanbegovic in Knez Mihailova Street in downtown Belgrade, where it will remain until June 22.
