The commission was founded as an attempt to "offer a more balanced depiction of the events in Sarajevo based on facts", the report says. It was chaired by Israeli historian and writer Raphael Israeli, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Nine feature films and one short film addressing the subjects of conflict and reconciliation will be screened online and at the Meeting Point cinema in the Bosnian capital from April 24-30 as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival's 'Dealing with the Past' programme.

The programme was launched in 2016 with the aim of initiating an honest dialogue about the recent past in the Balkans.

The report published on Tuesday by the controversial Commission for Investigating the Sufferings of Serbs in Sarajevo, which was set up by Bosnia's Serb-dominated Republika Srpska to highlight its perspective on wartime events, claimed that Serbs were forced out of the Bosnian capital by Bosniak forces during the 1992-95 war.

One of Bosnia's most respected politicians, Bogic Bogicevic - a legend among many in Bosnia for his courage before and during the war of the 1990s - has pulled out the race to become mayor of Sarajevo, prompting dismay among his many admisers.

At Sarajevo's Butmir Airport, the President of Serbia was welcomed by the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, and the Bosniak member of the Presidency, Sefik Dzaferovic.

After several Serbian women actors launched a court case against the well-known acting teacher Miroslav "Mika" Aleksic, accusing him of raping several of his pupils, women from various former Yugoslav countries, mostly actors and artists, have started sharing their own experiences of abuse on social media, sending the message to each other that they are not alone.

A Turkish colonel was appointed as the deputy commander of NATO's Sarajevo base in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey announced on Jan. 8. 

Following the appointment of army Col. Olcay Denizer, Turkey's National Defense Ministry said in a statement that the country's military fulfilled important duties in Bosnia and Herzegovina and noted Sarajevo's efforts to join NATO.

Twenty-eight years since they went missing during the Bosnian war, Ferida Nisic is still searching for the remains of her brother, Mujo Music, and 10 other relatives.

"The search is your life," said Nisic, secretary of the municipality missing persons association in Hadzici, just west of the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo.

The Minister for Veterans' Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Hajrudin Grabovica, and the president of the Association of Parents of Children Killed during the Siege of Sarajevo 1992-95, Fikret Grabovica, signed a co-financing agreement on Thursday to establish the new Bijela Soba (White Room) memorial space dedicated to the memory of children killed during the war in Sarajevo.
