Prof. Magiorkinis: We expect a new worrying mutation in 2022

A sensational statement - given that we have not yet "gotten rid" of the Omicron and Delta mutations and scientists in many countries object to the easing of anti-pandemic measures - was made by Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Member of the Committee of Experts Gkikas Magiorkinis.

84 Percent Test Positive for Delta Variant of Covid-19

Out of 85 samples tested at the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD), the Delta variant of Covid-19 was identified in 84 (99%). The Alpha variant was detected in 1 of the sequenced samples.

The samples were taken from Covid-19 patients in 26 medical establishments from 18 districts in the country in the period 8-28 July 2021.

 

INSP: Five deaths recorded in persons confirmed to have SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant, all unvaccinated

The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) on Tuesday informs that, as of July 25, 1,860 cases of infections with variants of the SARS-CoV-2 that are more worrying have been confirmed, of which 1,699 were cases of infections with the Alpha variant, 11 with Beta, 23 with Gamma and 127 with Delta.

Covid-19 Delta Variant Gaining Momentum in Bulgaria

UK coronavirus variant is still the dominant variant in Bulgaria. The Delta variant is still gaining momentum. Greece is welcoming July with the best epidemiological statistics of the last months.

There is a substantial decline in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, of intubated patients, of hospital admissions, and of deaths.

This decline did not occur by chance. It is the product of our collective, strenuous, and coordinated effort and care.
