Health Minister Katsarov: In Next Few Days Most of Bulgaria Will Be in Orange Zone
"In the coming days, almost the entire country will enter the orange zone, and restrictive measures may be needed next week." This was said by the Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov to BTV.
He explained that the number of people in need of intensive care had risen from 100 to 160 in just one day, and said the intensity of the pandemic was increasing.
WHO with Warning on Delta Variant
The Delta strain poses the greatest threat to people who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccination provides protection against the new variant of the coronavirus.
Chief Scientist Sumya Swaminatan said this at a briefing by the World Health Organization. Broadcasts were conducted on Twitter-VOZ pages.

84 Percent Test Positive for Delta Variant of Covid-19
Out of 85 samples tested at the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD), the Delta variant of Covid-19 was identified in 84 (99%). The Alpha variant was detected in 1 of the sequenced samples.
The samples were taken from Covid-19 patients in 26 medical establishments from 18 districts in the country in the period 8-28 July 2021.

Over 2,088 cases of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern, of which 359 Delta, in Romania
The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informs on Tuesday that until August 15, 2,088 cases were confirmed with strains of SARS-CoV-2 which cause concern, of which 1,695 with the Alpha strain, 11 with Beta, 23 with Gamma and 359 cases of the Delta strain. According to the INSP, until August 15, the confirmation rate of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOC) was 77%.
Melbourne extends lockdown as Sydney touts vaccine freedom
