Top Turkish diplomat attends teleconference on COVID-19

Turkish foreign minister on April 28 attended the 7th teleconference of the International Coordination Group on the coronavirus.

In a Twitter post, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said cooperation and coordination in multilateral organizations in the fight against coronavirus as well as support for vulnerable countries against the pandemic were discussed at the meeting.

Thirty-two new coronavirus infections confirmed, two deaths

Two more people died from Covid-19 in Greece in the past 24 hours, putting the death toll at 138, a health ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Sotiris Tsiodras said 36 of the victims (26.1 pct) were women and rest were men. The median age of the deceased was 74 years and 90.6 percent had an underlying disease and/or were aged 70 or older.

GCS: 277 new cases of novel coronavirus infection; total number of cases reaches 11,616

A number of 277 new cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the latest information, the total number of cases thus reaching 11,616, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Tuesday. From among the persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, 3,404 were declared recovered and discharged.

INSP: Suceava, Botosani, Arad, Bihor, Bucharest register 43.8pct of cases of novel coronavirus infections

43.8 percent of the total cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus were registered in the past 14 days in the counties of Suceava, Botosani, Arad, Bihor and Bucharest city, according to a report of the National Centre for Surveillance and Control of Communicable Diseases with the National Institute of Public Health (INSP).

Global coronavirus cases cross 3 million mark

The number of global novel coronavirus cases crossed the 3 million mark on April 27, according to a running tally by the US' Johns Hopkins University.

The data showed that the number of infections had reached 3,002,303 while the number of people who died from complications from the virus topped 208,000. Over 878,000 people have recovered.

Coronavirus cases rise to 2,534 as two new deaths reported

Greek Health Ministry spokesman Sotiris Tsiodras on Monday announced 17 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total to 2,534, adding that two more patients have died, pushing the death toll to 136.

Tsiodras added that 43 people are currently being treated in intensive care units after contracting the virus (average age is 67), while 65 have left ICU.
