Turkey warns against China travel after outbreak

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, Turkey on Jan. 27 urged its citizens not to travel China unless it is necessary.

"It is highly recommended that our citizens do not travel to China unless it is necessary and if they travel there, they should stay away from the regions where the [coronavirus] cases are seen, especially in Hubei province," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

China records first virus death in Beijing as toll passes 100

The new strain of coronavirus spreading across China claimed its first victim in Beijing, officials said on Jan. 28, as the death toll climbed to 106, the United States warned citizens against trips to the country and financial markets recoiled again at the potential impact on the world's second-biggest economy.   

A new case of suspected coronavirus in Europe

A new suspicion of the presence of coronavirus in the country comes after a Chinese flight attendant, who was brought to hospital late Saturday night, was found not to be infected with the virus.
Director of the Vienna Hospital Association (Wiener Krankenanstaltenverbund - KAV), Michael Binder, said that a Chinese national had been admitted to the hospital on Sunday night.

China confirms 56 deaths from new coronavirus

The death toll in China from the novel coronavirus outbreak has climbed to 56, local media reported on Jan. 26.

"During the past 24 hours, 688 new confirmed cases, 1,309 new suspected cases and 15 deaths from the disease (13 in Hubei, one in Shanghai and one in Henan) were reported," Xinhua news agency said in a report, citing China's National Health Commission.

Second City in China Introduces State of Emergency due to the Coronavirus Outbreak

The dangerous coronavirus continues to spread. A second city in China imposed a state of emergency in an attempt to stem the spread of the infection. After Wuhan, an urban city of 6 million, stopped traffic and planes, and residents were urged not to leave, he said.

There are currently 17 coronavirus deaths, with a total of 570 infected in several countries.

Chinese Snakes are the Source of the Deadly Coronavirus

The Chinese krait and the Chinese cobra  may be the original source of the newly discovered coronavirus that has triggered an outbreak of a deadly infectious respiratory illness in China this winter, CNN reported.

Bungarus, also known as Taiwanese or Chinese krait, is a highly venomous snake species found in much of central and southern China and Southeast Asia.
