Saudi prince held in record Beirut airport drug bust: security source

A Saudi prince and four others were detained on Oct. 26 in Lebanon in the largest drug bust in the history of the Beirut airport, a security source said.

Saudi prince Abdel Mohsen Bin Walid Bin Abdulaziz and four others were detained by airport security while allegedly "attempting to smuggle about two tons of Captagon pills and some cocaine," a security source told AFP.

Prince Majed bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, aged 29, is accused of having sexual relations with a male aide, taking cocaine and threatening to kill women who refused his sexual advances as well as forcing himself on a maid. The prince is the son of the late King Abdullah who used his royal status to force others to have sex with him.

Saudi, Hungary sign nuclear pact

Oil giant Saudi Arabia, which is trying to diversify its energy sources, signed an agreement on Oct. 19 with Hungary to cooperate in the peaceful use of atomic energy.

It is the latest pact of its kind signed by the world's largest oil exporter, which earlier this year reached similar agreements with Russia and South Korea.

France signs deals worth $10 bln with Saudi: French PM

France on Oct. 13 announced a series of deals worth 10 billion euros ($11.4 billion) with Saudi Arabia, during a visit by Prime Minister Manuel Valls.

"France-Saudi Arabia: 10 billion euros in contracts," he wrote in a tweet.

The deals include contracts and letters of intent between the two countries whose economic and political bonds have been strengthening.

Saudi employer cuts off woman’s hand

Kasturi Munirathinam’s right arm was cut off, allegedly by her employer, when she tried to escape from their house last week, where she was working as a domestic help.

Her family has stated that she was being tortured by her Saudi employers and her employers had been angered after she complained about the harassment she was facing, as BBC reports.
