Schröder accuses his critics of wanting a "new Cold War"

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder hit back at those criticising him for taking a job at a Russian energy company, saying some of his critics wanted to push Germany into a "new Cold War."

The critics include his successor as chancellor, Angela Merkel, who is campaigning to win her fourth term in elections to be held Sept. 24.

Schroeder: Vucic will get Serbia into EU

BELGRADE - Aleksandar Vucic will get Serbia into the EU, whatever political position he might occupy at the time, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said late Tuesday.

In an appearance on Prva TV with Vucic, Schroeder said he believed Serbia would join the EU by 2020.
