Campaign brings laptop back to boy after mother loses job
A young boy who had to return his new laptop due to financial difficulties after his mother lost her job has been gifted two new computers by the sales company where he had initially bought the device after a social media campaign.

A device as big as a telephone receiver can detect the presence of Covid-19 even before the virus could be detected by a PCR. It has been developed by a team of Italian, Spanish and Bulgarian scientists and is already used in diagnosing and tracking the infection.
Four-hour work stoppage called on tram on Wednesday
The Attica Tram Electricians Association on Tuesday announced a four-hour work stoppage from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday "since it does not see any substantial solution to the problems."
In a statement, the association bemoaned a series of shortcomings, including the operation of the tram telematics system, which has remained "problematic" for the last 22 months.
Turkey's industrial output up in November
Turkey's calendar-adjusted industrial production surged 11% year-on-year last November, the country's statistical authority said on Jan. 13.
The figure, which beat market expectations, indicates strong growth for the third quarter of 2020.

Slovenia’s Covid-19 death toll passes 3,000
Ljubljana – Slovenia’s total of deaths among Covid-19 patients since the start of the pandemic has passed 3,000 after a further 24 died on Sunday. Another 426 people tested positive as test positivity rate dropped.

Ljubljana – Bank card users will not be able to use ATMs in the early morning hours on Tuesday, 12 January, due to communication infrastructure upgrades.
Bankart company said it will be performing works on communication infrastructure, which means that a majority of cash machines all across the country will be out of order for 30 minutes.

Ljubljana – Jasna Hengović, a software developer at Cosylab, has become the Woman Engineer of the Year, as this accolade has been given out for the third year to encourage young women to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The Association of Heating Companies in Bulgaria supports State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR) in its request to provide more information about the work of the district heating systems, the Pernik District Heating Company reported.
Black day in Slovenia - the largest number of newly infected
This is the highest number of new infections in one day since the outbreak of the epidemic.
But the largest number of tests was done - 22.194, the Slovenian government announced today.
