Three e-scooter companies withdraw from market in Istanbul
Three companies operating a total of more than 8,000 e-scooters in Istanbul have pulled out of the market of their own accord.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) unanimously accepted the proposal to cancel the e-scooter permits belonging to three companies.
Municipality establishes parking areas for scooters
The Istanbul Municipality has determined four streets where the use of e-scooters is intense in Istanbul's Kadıköy district as a pilot area for the establishment of parking areas for micro-mobility vehicles.
E-scooters occupying sidewalks removed in Kadıköy
The Kadıköy Municipality has removed excessive e-scooters that were improperly parked and occupying sidewalks, which reduced the walking space and posed a hazard to pedestrian safety, and took them to the municipality warehouses.
E-scooters towed away by the municipal teams on early Jan. 17 will be returned to their owners after the penalty is issued.

E-scooters occupying sidewalks to be removed
The Kadıköy Municipality has warned e-scooter renting companies to remove excess vehicles occupying sidewalks, or else the municipality will tow them away starting from the weekend.
