A new service for the sharing of electric scooters is presented in Sofia. It is in support of the growing interest in alternative methods of transportation in the city and is part of the strategy to improve air quality.

The first parking lot for scooters and bicycles was opened in the capital, BGNES reports. The bike parking lot is located on Vitosha Blvd., near the intersection with Dr. Stefan Sarafov Street in the South Park direction.

In addition, similar parking lots will also be opened around the Largo, at Moskovska Street and Dondukov Blvd.

Mounting of the stands begins on Monday, reported NOVA TV. 

200 free parking spaces for bicycles, drones, mopeds and scooters in Sofia. Putting the stands will start as early as next Monday.

So far, the envisaged locations for free parking of two-wheeled vehicles are around Largo, at ''Moskovska'' Street and ''Dondukov'' Blvd.

Electric scooters will only be able to be rented if registered and with a speed limit. Experts from the State Agency for Road Traffic Safety held the first of a series of meetings announced with local authorities about the forthcoming amendments to the Road Traffic Act to regulate the use of such vehicles.

The Athens Retro Festival is back for a fourth consecutive year and will be taking place at the old OSY bus depot from Thursday to Sunday. As the name suggests, the festival is a showcase of music, technology, fashion, games and toys, art, trends and more dating from the 1920s up to the 90s.
