Green turtle tracked with device

After receiving its treatment in the western province of Muğla, a green sea turtle, which is under the threat of extinction, was released to the sea three days ago with a satellite tracking device installed on it.

The turtle traveled approximately 30 kilometers in three days and reached Marmaris' Aksaz area.

Green sea turtles start laying eggs in southern Turkey 

Green sea turtles have started laying eggs in Turkey's southern province of Adana.

The Akyatan Wildlife Development Area, an internationally important wetland located between Akyatan, the largest lagoon of Çukurova Delta, and the Mediterranean, welcomes green sea turtles every summer.

Volunteers and officials have been on night watch along the 22-kilometer (13.6-mile) coast.

Loggerhead sea turtle found dead off Thessaloniki

A loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) was found dead by a member of the public in the Thermaic Gulf, off Thessaloniki on Tuesday afternoon.

The turtle was found near the local Yacht Club and the coast guard was notified, along with the municipality's environmental directorate, who pulled the turtle out of the water.
