A Turkish military plane carrying medical aid arrived in Lebanon's capital Beirut on Aug. 11 following the deadly blast last week that killed at least 171 people and injured thousands.
Hakan Çakıl, Turkey's ambassador to Lebanon, the Turkish embassy staff and Lebanese officials met the plane at the Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut.
Search teams from the US and Canada found more remains of the crew and part of the wreckage of the CH-148 Cyclone helicopter that crashed in the Ionian Sea on April 29.
The helicopter was taking part in NATO's Operation Reassurance in the Mediterranean, when it crashed at sea, killing all six people aboard.
The Interior Ministry has assigned three inspectors for an investigation into death of at least 41 people in two avalanches in Turkey's eastern province of Van, according to a statement Feb. 7.
Three civil inspectors will "inquire and investigate every aspect of the two avalanche incidents," the statement said.
A score of Turkish search and rescue team members who were caught in an avalanche on Feb. 5 have been saved, but 11 died, said authorities.
