Voting ends in local elections across Türkiye, counting process starts

Polling for Türkiye's local elections concludes, and the counting process begins, with over 61 million voters eligible to vote in the country's 81 provinces.

Voting in the 32 eastern provinces started at 7 a.m. local time and ended at 4 p.m. Polls in the remaining provinces opened at 8 a.m. and closed at 5 p.m.

İYİ Party vice-chair joins list of resignations

İYİ (Good) Party lawmaker Cem Karakeçili has announced his resignation from the party, revealing his decision through a post on his social media account.

Karakeçili, who served as the party's vice president and was in charge of local governments and represented Şanlıurfa in the parliament, took to social media to express his grievances on Feb. 26.

The event held at the Haliç Congress Center on Jan. 5 served as a platform for İmamoğlu to outline his plans for Istanbul's future after the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) reaffirmed his candidacy last month.
