I was among those unsurprised when breaking news emerged the other day that the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Republican People's Party (CHP) had failed to agree on forming a coalition government. 

The outcome of the meeting was obvious when the two leaders first sat down for talks on whether and how to forge a coalition government.

A ceremony was held yesterday at the Ankara Contemporary Arts Center for famous painter, journalist and author Fikret Otyam, who died on Aug. 9 at the age of 89 in the southern province of Antalya.
