Turkeyâs gold imports plummeted by 94 percent on a monthly basis to 1.45 tons due to Ramadan and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East that steeply curbed demand, according to new figures.

Serres teacher accused of sexually abusing pupil held in custody
A 49-year-old schoolteacher from Serres, northern Greece, who has been accused of sexually abusing one of his pupils was remanded in custody on Monday.
The teacher is accused of assaulting the girl, now aged 14, between the summer of 2011 and May this year.
He denies the charges but will be temporarily held at Sidirokastro police station.

8,000 Bulgarian Officers To Stage Major Traffic Police Raids
Bulgaria's Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Svetlozar Lazarov will launch major police raids on the roads countrywide every Friday and Saturday night.
Starting next Friday, some 8,000 police officers will take part in the special police operation. They will inspect all vehicles, focusing on areas near drinking and entertainment establishments, Bulgarian Trud informs.
