An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 struck off Chile's coast on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said, but local authorities said there was no immediate report of any damage.

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake was reported in the Pacific Ocean near Chile, BTA reported. There are no data on injured people, damages and interruption of basic services.

An earthquake with magnitude 7.3 on the Richter scale was recorded in the sea east of Indonesia.

The earthquake was felt in Australia, where some areas were evacuated.

No tsunami warning yet.

There are also no reports of casualties and destruction.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 220 kilometers deep.

A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck off the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Saturday, monitors said, adding that a tsunami threat was possible for parts of the Philippines and neighbouring Indonesia, AFP reported.

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale shook the shores of New Caledonia. For now there is no threat of a tsunami. The epicenter is 29 kilometers deep, about 253 kilometers from the capital, Noumea.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale was recorded today in Bodrum, Mugla County, Western Turkey, Turkish NTV reported, citing the government's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate.

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.7 on the Richter scale was felt off the coast of eastern Indonesia. No tsunami warning issued and no records of casualties or damages are reported. The epicenter is in Nusa Tengara province, about 318 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital of Kwang, at a depth of 549 kilometers.

A 5.7-magnitude quake hit off the coast of northeast Japan on Friday, according to reports of the US Geological Survey.

The earthquake struck at 7:42 am on Friday eight kilometers east-northeast of the city of Miyako at a depth of 44 kilometers.

The Japan Meteorological Agency measured the magnitude of the jolt at 5.8 on the Richter scale and issued no tsunami alert.
