A 51-year-old man sustained severe injuries after being shot during an altercation at the Lakka port on the Ionian island of Paxoi in western Greece late Wednesday.

Wearing ancient Greek chlamys, NBA legend Magic Johnson and his wife, Cookie, partied with their friends on his boat off the coast of Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea. Magic's social media was filled with photos, advertising Greece and the ancient Greek kitsch that proves to be durable and timeless. 

A bus caught fire near the small town of Pelekas, just 13 kilometers away from Corfu town on the Ionian island on Thursday morning.

All passengers on board the bus were safely evacuated, and there have been no reports of any injuries.

The fire department is currently en route to the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

"I am deeply concerned about the residents of Loutses who have refused to abandon their homes. Despite our attempts to persuade them with friends, acquaintances, and even psychologists, nothing seems to work," says Mayor Giorgos Macheimaris of North Corfu.

Greek firefighters also fought the fire last night in Agios, Corfu, Karystos, Rhodes and Ilikis, and citizens in Evia were ordered to evacuate from houses located in threatened areas, reports Kathimerini.
