A Sisyphean project to finally commence seaplane routes to Greece's numerous islands without airports and a handful of coastal or lake-side mainland destinations will again be attempted in September, at least on a pilot basis.

At a dynamic pace, Hellenic Tourism Organization - EOT continues the program of implementing familiarization trips for travel agents (fam trips) and journalists (press trips), with the aim of promoting the Greek tourism product by the largest international media and the opinion leaders of the international tourism industry.

Zakynthos, Rhodes, Kos, Kefalonia are some being examined

Greece plans to fully vaccinating all residents on nearly 100 of its islands by the end of June in a bid to attract tourists this summer, news wires reported. The  national jab programme earlier gave priority to the older people and medical workers vulnerability to coronavirus.

An earthquake with preliminary magnitude 4 struck οn the island of Zakynthos in western Greece on Monday.

The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake occurred at 14.35 p.m. local time, 10 kilometers southwest of Zakynthos town, at a depth of 14 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the quake.
