Guyon: New Serbian-language schools to open in US, Austria
BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Arnaud Guyon announced on Tuesday that more Serbian-language supplementary schools would be opened in the US and Austria.
The law to be adopted: Cyrillic Alphabet mandatory
The Assembly of Serbia and the Republika Srpska should adopt the harmonized Law on the Protection of the Serbian Language in Public Life and the Protection and Preservation of the Cyrillic Alphabet on September 15, the Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day.

Central ceremony to mark Statehood Day/VIDEO
The day commemorates two pivotal events in the efforts to rebuild a Serbian state after centuries of Ottoman Turkish occupation: the First Serbian Uprising of 1804, led by Djordje "Karadjordje" Petrovic, and the adoption of the Sretenje Constitution in 1835.

Bulgaria facing "serious demographic problem"
Dimitrova said that Bulgaria is one of the countries with a serious demographic problem.
In the current year, 60,000 less children are expected to be born at the national level, which represents a new negative demographic record for Bulgaria.
In the period from January 1 to December 1, 2017, 58,000 children were born, and 53,543 in 2018.

Serbian Film Center Denies Censoring 'Anti-Serb' Movie
Scriptwriter Dimitrije Vojnov and actor Nikola Kojo have accused the Serbian Film Center of banning the filming of a film called "Mezimica" ["Favourite"] because it shows Serbs in a bad light.
The Center has denied the accusations, saying the contract for the movie was terminated by agreement and accusing the two of damaging the country's film industry.
Serbians can now travel to UAE without visas
Serbia is committed to raising relations with that country to the level of strategic partnership, Dacic also said, according to the Serbian government.
At the reception at the Serbian embassy in Abu Dhabi, Dacic said that the UAE recognized Serbia as an important partner in the Balkans, as evidenced by the number of successful Emirate companies operating in our country.

Defense minister to attend military exercise in Greece
The Serbian government announced this, adding that Vulin was invited by his Greek counterpart Panos Kammenos.
The exercise gathers around 100 members of special forces of the armies of Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, whereas members of the armed forces of Egypt, Israel, Estonia, Jordan, Cyprus, Poland and the United States of America have the observer status.
MLS launches MAIC in Serbia
Thessaloniki-based MLS Innovation on Thursday announced its entry into the Serbian market.
It has adapted its voice recognition (MAIC) system for the Serbian language, to allow Serbs for the first time to speak to their cell phones, smartphones and tablets in their own language to make a call, send a text or browse the internet using their voice alone.

Serbia opens consulate in Los Angeles
The consulate is headed by Honorary Consul Dr. Ryan F. Osborne.
An MFA statement said that the Consulate covers the consular area of the territory of the US state of California.
Dr. Ryan F. Osborne is a renowned American surgeon-oncologist, a specialist in tumor surgery on the head and neck, the statement said.
