Vucic welcomes Zeman in Belgrade

BELGRADE- Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic greeted Czech President Milos Zeman in a ceremony outside Belgrade's Palace of Serbia on Monday.

Zeman, who is on an official visit to Serbia, was given a red carpet and guard of honour welcome as the national anthems of the two countries were being played.

"I thank you for the intellectual independence, sincerity and honesty with which, through your literary works, you brought the history and destiny of the Serbian people and Serbia closer to the French public," the president announced on his Instagram profile, along with photos of the meeting.

The ceremony started at 10 a.m. and was attended by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vui, who at the beginning greeted the young officers in front of the Serbian Parliament with "Officers and cadets, hello!"
After this, the national flag was raised and the hymn "God of Justice" was performed.

"I thanked Mr. Zuroff for consistent and dedicated fighting for a clear condemnation of the Ustasha crimes committed during the Second World War," Vui wrote on Instagram and added: "The traditional historical alliance of the Serbian and Jewish people is also an eternal bond into the memory of the crimes committed against the Serbian and Jewish people".

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vui, hosted a formal reception in front of the Palace of Serbia for the President of Hungary, Katalin Novak, who is visiting Serbia.
The Hungarian president was welcomed with the highest state honors, a red carpet, the formation of the Guard of the Serbian Army and the singing of the anthems of the two countries.
