Nine vultures found poisoned in central Greece
Reports emerged from Mesolongi, central Greece, a few days ago of the country's most serious case of vulture poisoning in the last decade, with nine dead birds found so far in the area's lagoon, while two others were transported to hospital in Athens.

Court says no to funding for Panathinaikos FC stadium
The sixth section of the Court of Audit on Wednesday upheld an earlier ruling that Panathinaikos soccer club should not receive 7 million euros from the Attica Regional Authority to improve its stadium at Alexandras Avenue in central Athens.
The club wants to make a number of improvements to the stadium, including increasing its seating capacity to 20,000 and creating parking spaces.
Second man held over double murder in Mani
A second man is being held in connection to the double murder in Mani, police revealed on Thursday morning.
An 18-year-old man gave himself in to police in Kalamata overnight several hours after a 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of taking part in the murder of 26-year-old Constantinos Sgouros and 25-year-old Yiannis Kommatis, whose bodies were found in a ravine on Wednesday.

Botched steroid deal led to Mani murders
A deal to sell steroids gone wrong appears to have been the reason for the murder of two bodybuilding fanatics, aged 25 and 26, whose bodies were found on Tuesday in a ravine on the outskirts of Kalamata in the Peloponnese, Kathimerini understands.

Old Attica train tracks to be transformed into bicycle lane network
The Attica Regional Authority in cooperation with experts from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) are drawing plans to transform abandoned railway tracks into bicycle lanes that if completed may link the Antonis Tristis Park in Ilion, western Athens, to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio, southeast of the capital.

Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis appeared to have held on to his seat in local authority elections after his leftist challenger conceded defeat, although the race for Attica governor remained too close to call late on Sunday night while a number of independents beat government-backed candidates in other key seats.
