New Democracy MEP withdraws from European elections amid data breach allegations

New Democracy MEP Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou announced on Friday that she would not be contesting in the upcoming European Parliament elections in June, following allegations of violating data protection regulations by sending mass campaign emails to Greek voters living overseas.

PM to chair cabinet meeting, visit Rhodes on Friday

The Greek cabinet will meet at 11.00 a.m. on Friday at Maximos Mansion and will be chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. 

Ministers will present bills and measures related to their portfolio, while the Climate Crisis minister will brief the cabinet on the forest fires and measures for those affected.

New cabinet to be sworn in on Tuesday

The members of the new government will be sworn in on Tuesday in a ceremony presided over by Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the official handing over of the portfolios to the new ministers at their headquarters.
