Red Star lose to Maccabi in basketball Euroleague

TEL AVIV - Red Star Belgrade lost 89-75 (23-16, 24-13, 17-23, 25-23) on the road to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Euroleague Basketball Round 19 late Thursday.

The Red-and-Whites suffered their third consecutive defeat in European basketball's top-tier competition and, to make matters worse, James Feldeine hobbled off the court with a twisted ankle after just six minutes of play.

Bitter results for Greens and Reds

Panathinaikos and Olympiakos suffered bitter defeats in the Euroleague but in different ways, as the Greens lost a great opportunity to beat leader CSKA Moscow at home while Olympiakos suffered a 28-point loss at Khimki.

The Greens went down 75-70 on Friday enduring their first defeat in Athens, and have slipped to fifth at the table.

Partizan crushed by Lokomotiv in basketball Eurocup

KRASNODAR - Partizan Belgrade were beaten 99-64 (22-18, 32-10, 29-18, 16-18) on the road by Lokomotiv Kuban in Wednesday's Round 10, Group C game of Eurocup Basketball.

The Russian team, coached by Serbian Sasa Obradovic, killed the game off in the second quarter, running away with a big 93-46 lead in the last quarter.
