Turkey says it’s ready to open consulate in city that Azerbaijan took from Armenian forces

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said his country is ready to open a consulate in Shusha, a city that Azerbaijan took from Armenian forces in a war in 2020.

Erdogan made the comment during a visit to Azerbaijan at the start of his third term in office following presidential elections last month.

Azerbaijani activists protest ‘carrying of weapons through Lachin corridor’

Protesting along Lachin corridor, the road that connects Armenia to Karabakh, as Baku says its mining sites in the region are being illegally exploited by Yerevan, Azerbaijani activists also claim that Armenia is carrying weapons to Khankendi through the corridor.

Azerbaijan fought a six-week war with Armenia for control of the majority-Armenian region of Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020.

Turkey, Azerbaijan to hold joint regular security meets

Turkey and Azerbaijan will hold joint regular "national security" meetings in a bid to further deepen their unique "two states-one nation" principle, a senior Turkish official has said, stressing that a recently signed bilateral agreement paves the way for extending the scope of military and security cooperation between the two allies.

Turkey pledges everlasting solidarity with Azerbaijan

Turkey on Nov. 8 marked the anniversary of Azerbaijan's victory in Karabakh, expressing everlasting solidarity with the brotherly country.

"We are celebrating the victory of Azerbaijan's 44-day Patriotic War, which was crowned by liberation of the cultural capital of ancient Shusha on November 8 last year," said a Foreign Ministry statement.

Turkish president set for 3rd Azerbaijan visit since Karabakh liberation

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will head to Azerbaijan on Oct. 26, his third visit since the liberation of the Karabakh region last November.

Erdoğan will meet his counterpart Ilham Aliyev and attend the inauguration of the Fuzuli International Airport.
