Many Greeks would rather spend the weekend abroad than in the countryside

Flights abroad for the long weekends of Clean Monday and Independence Day on March 25 are showing increased occupancy rates of over 75%.

For those departing this weekend from Athens, the most popular destinations are Oslo, Bologna, Geneva, Amsterdam and Lisbon, while those departing from Thessaloniki mainly travel to Frankfurt, Berlin, Larnaca, Munich and Dusseldorf.

Bulgaria’s Burgas Airport Will Resume Work on March 27 after Major Repair

Bulgaria's Burgas Airport will be closed until March 27. The reason is planned construction and repair activities related to the airport runways major overhaul. 

All planned flights during the repair works will be cancelled or redirected to Varna Airport, BTA reported.

Bulgaria Air Launches Regular Flights to Ten New Destinations

Bulgaria Air starts operating 10 new regular passenger flights to some of the most attractive cities in Europe and Asia in 2021. While other airlines report further flight cuts, the national air carrier will surprise its customers with new direct flights to Dubai, Corfu, Rhodes, Crete, Thessaloniki, Budapest, Kiev, as well as many other top destinations.

Scandinavian Air Pilot Strike is Over

Leadership management and trade union federations of pilots in Sweden, Norway and Denmark managed to agree on wage increases.

This year it will be 3.5%. In 2020, wages will increase by another three per cent, and by 2021 by four per cent. According to the SAS  Executive Director, however, at least 24 hours will be required to normalize the flight schedule.

Airport in Burgas Still Closed After Plane Skid off Runway

After passenger plane was forced to make emergency landing at the airport in Burgas and then left the track earlier today, now the it is already pulled to a safe distance. An inspection by a technical team starts began. One of the versions of the incident is a technical malfunction, reported the Bulgarian National Television.
