Schools in 10 Regions of the Country Closed over the Flu Outbreak

The Ministry of Education has announced that schools are closing down in 10 regions of the country over the flu outbreak. In three regions - Bourgas, Pernik and Shumen - all schools are closed, in seven regions only some.

As of today until 8 March, schools are closed in the municipalities of Kostinbrod, Svoge, Botevgrad, Pravets, Zlatitsa, Koprivshtitsa, and Sofia-region.

State of Emergency Declared in Silistra Because of African Swine Fever

From July 31 to Monday, August 5, a state of emergency was declared in the Northern Bulgarian region of Silistra because of a confirmed case of African Swine Fever in a pig-breeding farm in the village of Popina. The Regional Food Safety Directorate will organize a 12-hour inspection at slaughterhouses in Dulovo, Tutrakan, and Sitovo in the area.

The Ministry of Interior Prohibits Martial Demonstrations in front of Little Children

Interior Minister Mladen Marinov has issued an order to stop martial demonstrations in front of children after three children were injured in Silistra by a grenade explosion. The ban was announced during the parliamentary scrutiny on Friday.

Three Six-Year-Old Children Were Injured during a Demonstration in the Northeastern Bulgaria’s town Silistra

Three six-year-old children were injured during a demonstration before the Children's Day celebration on June 1st at Dorostol Stadium in the Northeastern Bulgaria's town Silistra. The city's police was demonstrating the capture of a criminal when an explosion of grenades injured two boys and one girl. The boys have burns on their feet and were given emergency medical help.

Minibus with 18 People and TIR Truck Crashed near Razgrad, there are Injured People

A minibus with 18 people and TIR truck hit the Razgrad-Blagoevo road. After the blow, one person has fractures and the others are taken to hospital for examination but do not have serious injuries. This is reported by the Ministry of Interior.
 

Power Cut Off All Over Bulgaria

The electricity situation is serious in the region of Varna. Regional governor Stoyan Pasev announced that power has been cut off in the municipalities of Devnya and Suvorovo, while all 12 villages in Dalgopol have no electricity. Only the central municipality has power.
