As part of the 50th Istanbul Music Festival, Austrian soprano Anna Prohaska will take the stage at the Atatürk Culture Center (AKM) on June 9. At the concert, she will share the stage with Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

Czech mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozena and the current music director of the London Symphony Orchestra, Sir Simon Rattle, partners in life and in art, will be at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) for a classical recital that will see Rattle at the piano in one of his rare appearances as musician. The Goethe Institute in Sofia will steam live concerts of the Berlin Philharmonic, sources of the Institute said.

Out of hundreds of Goethe Institutes all over the planet, the one in Sofia is one of the very few, which is permitted to take part in this program.

The prestigious Berliner Philharmoniker’s European Concert will take place at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis) on Labour Day (May 1), with Greek star violinist Leonidas Kavakos as the soloist, the Philharmonic announced on Thursday.
