Pontes & Frangoulis | Athens | May 9 & 10

Fado crossover sensation Dulce Pontes will join acclaimed tenor Mario Frangoulis on stage at the Athens Concert Hall (megaron.gr) for two nights on May 9 and 10, from an original plan for a single show. Their program is dedicated to the ports of the Mediterranean, with ballads from their native Portugal and Greece, but also from Italy, Spain, Corsica and more.

Opera night brings selection of famous arias

Maribor – Opera lovers will be able to enjoy some of the most renowned arias from Italian, French and Slovenian operas at the recently renovated main square in the centre of Maribor on Thursday evening. The Night of the Opera, hosted by the SNG Maribor theatre, will also mark the closing of the opera season.

Jazz & More | Athens | January 15

The Athens Big Band will be accompanied by vocalist Mariza Rizou at the Olympia Theater in an evening of jazz standards and other crowd-pleasers on Tuesday, January 15. Rizou first appeared on the local live music scene in 2007 and released her first album, "Petao" (I'm Flying), in 2014. The concert starts at 8.30 p.m. and admission costs 6-20 euros.

French Songs | Athens | January 3

Singer Teti Kasioni and guitarist Giorgos Athanasiou pay tribute to great artists like Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour, in a concert of classic French melodies at the Numismatic Museum cafe. The show starts at 9 p.m. and while admission is free, there is a one-drink minimum order. Reservations are recommended.
