Mayor seeking stricter fines for public space use
Athens Mayor Haris Doukas said on Thursday he will ask the Interior Ministry for an increase in fines for the illegal placement of tables and seats in public spaces by catering establishments in the Greek capital, so that the relevant inspections conducted by the municipality pay off.

Minimum wage set to exceed €800 by April, says FM

Gov’t rules out referendum on same-sex marriage bill

Man killed in accident at US Embassy worksite
A worker has been reported killed at a construction site in the US Embassy in Athens, after being crushed by a wall on Wednesday morning.
According to TV broadcaster Skai, the man was rushed to the capital's Evangelismos Hospital where his death was confirmed.
