Rome's Fiumicino Airport Remains Closed Following Fire Incident

A fire has left the main airport in Rome - Fiumicino closed for an indefinite term.

The incident occurred on Wednesday around 5pm and the fire left the main terminal in Rome closed for international flights.

No material damages have been reported yet. Some of the airport employees have been affected by the heavy smoke, as reported by airport officials.

PM Ponta calls Qatar Airways to invest in TAROM, Otopeni Airport

Transport minister to hold talks with TAROM officials, trade unions on recent spontaneous strike

Transport Minister Ioan Rus convened the leadership of TAROM national airline and the representatives of its trade union at the headquarters of the ministry on Tuesday with a view to unblocking the situation that led to the delay or cancellation of flights in the last two days.

TAROM introduces additional flights on four of its existing routes

TAROM Airlines, in a release to AGERPRES on Thursday, informed that it is going to introduce an additional number of flights, during the 2014-2015 winter season, on four of its already existing routes.

Thus, the Bucharest-Rome-Bucharest route will have two extra flights added, reaching thus to six weekly flights.

MOSCOW -- Russia is reportedly considering the possibility of restricting or banning Western companies from flying over Siberia on Europe-Asia routes.

This would represent Moscow's answer to the sanctions imposed against it by Western countries, the Russian daily Vedomosti is reporting.
