Taekwondo Multi European Games Open in Bulgaria

The 2nd World Taekwondo Europe (WTE) Multi European Games were officially opened here in the Asics Arena Hall on Friday, reports Xinhua. 

The event, which will end on Sunday, gathered 2,000 athletes of kids to seniors from 50 countries and regions, Bulgaria's Minister of Youth and Sports Krasen Kralev said at the opening ceremony.

Competition Fails to Select Director of Bulgaria's National Theatre

The competition for the appointment of a new director of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia failed to select one of the two participating candidates.

The website of the culture ministry informed that none of the two candidates for the position, namely Kamen Kostov and Filip Trifonov, had managed to garner the required minimum number of points.

Head of Bulgaria's National Theater Steps Down

Aleksandar Morfov, a renowned theater director who has worked as interim chair of the Natonal Theater Ivan Vazov, has submitted his resignation, officials say.

In a statement to the media, Bulgaria's Culture Ministry has thanked Morfov for his work in the past 5 months and has announced a new contest will take place on September to pick his successor.

Slavi Binev Resigns As Head Of Culture And Media Parliamentary Committee

Slavi Binev, MP of the Patriotic Front, resigned from his position as head of the Parliamentary Committee For Culture And Media.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the PF group in Parliament and was announced by the co-chairperson of the group Valeri Simeonov in front of journalists.
