Police Officers Busted a Group for Heroin Trafficking from Turkey through Bulgaria to the Netherlands

A group fro trafficking of large quantities of heroin from Turkey through Bulgaria to the Netherlands has been busted, prosecutors say.

The action was held on September 20. The leader of the group, who is a Bulgarian citizen, has been detained. Searches, seizures and questioning of witnesses were carried out.

Over 9,200 ha of corn have been completely damaged by hail, Minister of Agriculture Desislava Taneva said at the start of harvest in Sliven, a reporter of Focus Radio Sliven said. For the affected areas, the state will compensate a small part of the costs, their size and payment this year will be decided upon after the end of the season, said Minister Taneva.

A Bulgarian who lives in Chicago donated USD 5,700 to the Neonatology Department of the District Hospital in Sliven.

The sixty-year-old Pencho Nedev has lived in Chicago for 21 years and has a private business in the USA. He has been helping hospitals and social institutions in Bulgaria for years.

Cultural Heritage tour Presented to Mark Sofia’s 140th Anniversary as Capital of Bulgaria

As part of the celebrations marking 140 years since Sofia was declared the capital of Bulgaria, the Culture Directorate and the team of the Historical Routes website organized a tour of part of Sofia's cultural heritage, which is called "Behind the Facades of Sofia homes". On 29th of March, the Sofia mayor Yordanka Fandakova was the first to pass on it, reports BNT.
