Slovenia national basketball team

Berlin – Slovenia beat Belgium 88:72 (24:19, 44:41, 63:60) in Berlin on Saturday to advance to the quarter finals at the 2022 EuroBasket. The defending champions will thus play the winner of Sunday’s Ukraine-Poland match on Wednesday.

Celje – Slovenia defeated Croatia 94:88 (25:25, 41:46, 77:72) in the final friendly before the start of EuroBasket 2022 to affirm their status as one of the main contenders for gold.

Tokyo – Slovenia made it to the quarter-finals of the basketball tournament at the Tokyo Olympic Games after defeating the hosts Japan 116:81 for what is their second win in as many matches.

Led by the NBA All-Star Luka Dončić, Slovenia were in the lead throughout the game. With plenty of motivated players in action, they were effective on the offensive and solid in defence.

"If you don't jump, you're not Slovenian!" This is the most famous chants sung by Slovenian sports fans, dating back to the golden era of Slovenian football and the 2000 UEFA European Football Championship, and which peaked in 2017 when the Slovenian basketball team - with Slovenian NBA players, Goran Dragić and Luka Dončić - earned the title of European Champions.
