Pogačar skips Vuelta, Roglič to defend title

Ljubljana – Slovenian cycling superstar Tadej Pogačar seems to be skipping the 2021 Vuelta a Espana as he is scheduled to attend a reception at his native town of Komenda on 13 August, one day ahead of the start of the race around Spain. Primož Roglič is meanwhile to take part in the race to defend his 2020 title.

Roglič to appear in Olympic time trial and road race

Ljubljana – Primož Roglič, who had to quit the Tour of France early due to injuries, will compete for Slovenia at the Tokyo Olympic Games both in the road race and the individual time trial, according to the newspaper Delo.

“I’m happy to confirm that Primož will appear in both races,” Slovenia’s men’s cycling team head coach Andrej Hauptman said as quoted by Delo on Tuesday.

Cyclist Pogačar and 2004 handball team honoured for sporting achievements

Ljubljana- Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar and the team that won silver at the 2004 European Men’s Handball Championships were honoured for their international achievements as the Bloudek Prizes, Slovenia’s top sports awards, were handed out in a virtual ceremony on Friday.
