Samsung regains position as top smartphone seller

Samsung regained its position as the top smartphone seller, wresting back the lead from Apple as Chinese rivals close the gap on both market leaders, industry tracker International Data Corporation (IDC) has reported.

Samsung overtook Apple as worldwide smartphone shipments grew nearly 8 percent in the first quarter of this year to 289.4 million, IDC said.

Consignment notes to become digital

The tax administration is proceeding with the activation of the digital consignment note in the near future, with which the forwarding of all products will be monitored.

The digital waybill will allow, in real time, the inspection mechanism to know where a product originated and where it will go.

Apple's iPhone for the first time became the world's biggest selling smartphone after rival Samsung's 12-year run as leader, data have showed.

According to data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) released on Jan. 16, the iPhone stole Samsung's crown in 2023 with 234.6 million units sold, compared to the South Korean firm's 226.6 million units.
